University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine (AWCIM) are seeking a passionate physician to serve as
Associate Director of our flagship Integrative Medicine Fellowship. This is a rare and rewarding opportunity to help lead one of the nation's most respected integrative medicine training programs-recognized for nearly three decades of educating healthcare leaders in whole-person care.
Position OverviewThis full-time (1.0 FTE) position blends academic leadership and clinical practice-
0.8 FTE academic with AWCIM and
0.2 FTE clinical, providing integrative medicine consults at the Banner University Medicine - Sunrise Primary Care Clinic.
The AWCIM Fellowship is a two-year, hybrid (primarily online) training program for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other licensed healthcare professionals.
As Associate Director, you will:- Co-lead the Integrative Medicine Fellowship with AWCIM leadership
- Oversee curriculum development and promote learner engagement
- Lead the clinical mentorship program, including mentor recruitment, training, and evaluation
- Plan and implement six in-person experiential weeks annually with the Fellowship Director
- Evaluate fellowship applicants and assess learner assignments
- Participate in teaching, research, scholarly activities, and national presentations
- Supervise Fellowship faculty and staff, supporting performance reviews and development
- Support fundraising, marketing, and alumni outreach in collaboration with AWCIM leadership
- Contribute to additional AWCIM programs and alumni education
- Provide clinical care one full day or two half-days per week
Qualifications- MD or DO degree with active medical license and eligibility for Arizona licensure
- Board certified or board eligible in a primary specialty
- Eligible for or certified by the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM)
- Clinical experience in integrative medicine preferred; strong new graduates with relevant training encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated interest or experience in academic teaching, curriculum development, or educational leadership
