Grant Thornton is seeking an Associate Director, Industry Marketing to join the team. Approved office locations can be found below.

The Associate Director, Industry Marketing leads the Industry Marketing team and is accountable for the quality, integration, and business impact of the team's work. Acting as the strategic partner to the Head of Industries and industry leaders, this role translates industry priorities into a focused marketing agenda that strengthens Grant Thornton's relevance with priority buyers and advances business growth.

This role ensures industry insights, content, audiences, and market perspectives are embedded within integrated service line campaigns and growth initiatives. The Associate Director owns a portfolio of priority industry campaigns and initiatives while leading and developing the team.

Role Summary

The Associate Director serves as the senior day-to-day leader of Industry Marketing. This role aligns Heads of Industry, service line marketing leaders, and marketing enablement teams around shared priorities and ensures the team executes against those priorities with consistency and excellence.

The Associate Director is accountable for:

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Accountability
  • Lead, coach, and develop Industry Marketing team members.
  • Establish performance expectations, operating rhythms, and quality standards.
  • Ensure team priorities align with business priorities and available resources.
  • Drive accountability for outcomes, not just activity.
  • Build team capabilities in industry expertise, content development, campaign activation, stakeholder management, and AI-enabled ways of working.

Strategic Partnership & Industry Leadership
  • Serve as the primary marketing advisor to the Head of Industries, as well as individual leaders for industries within portfolio.
  • Translate industry priorities into actionable marketing strategies and plans.
  • Build trusted relationships with Heads of Industry and senior business stakeholders.
  • Provide recommendations, insights, and performance updates that support decision-making.

Service Line Integration & Campaign Leadership
  • Ensure industry audiences, insights, proof points, and content are integrated into appropriate campaigns.
  • Lead strategy and planning for portfolio of industries across all channels including social media, paid media, web, webinars, events, etc., partnering with channel and enablement teams to execute.
  • Partner closely with service line marketing leaders to strengthen industry relevance across integrated campaigns.
  • Own a portfolio of priority industry campaigns and initiatives.
  • Identify market opportunities that warrant focused industry-led activation.
  • Assess and oversee strategy for industry-related events, working with field marketing and other teams to ensure maximum ROI.

Industry Content Strategy & Editorial Leadership
  • Establish the industry content strategy and editorial roadmap across the Industry Marketing team.
  • Ensure a consistent pipeline of thought leadership and industry-focused content, as well as refreshed messaging (ex: for web or paid media campaigns).
  • Set quality standards for industry content, messaging, and activation.
  • Guide Managers in developing differentiated, market-relevant content and assets that supports campaigns, events, sales enablement, and executive visibility.
  • Ensure content is scalable, reusable, and aligned to firm priorities.

Operating Model & Governance
  • Own portfolio prioritization and workload allocation across the team.
  • Coordinate activities across marketing, industry, and enablement functions.
  • Maintain visibility into plans, capacity, and outcomes through ClickUp.
  • Continuously improve processes, templates, and ways of working.

Measurement & Impact
  • Define success measures tied to business outcomes.
  • Evaluate performance across campaigns, content, events, and industry initiatives.
  • Use performance insights to optimize investments and priorities.
  • Communicate the team's impact through concise, business-focused reporting.

AI-Enabled Ways of Working
  • Promote AI adoption as a core capability of the Industry Marketing function.
  • Establish standards for AI-enabled research, content development, planning, and workflow acceleration.
  • Drive continuous improvement of AI-related practices and capabilities across the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Capabilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, preferably within professional services or other consultative environments.
  • Experience leading and developing marketing professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Strong strategic planning, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent content, messaging, and editorial leadership capabilities.
  • Experience managing integrated marketing campaigns and measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong proficiency in AI-enabled marketing tools and practices.
  • Fluency in all areas of integrated campaigns including social media, paid media, webinars, events, content, web, etc.

The base salary range for this position is between $136,000 and $204,000. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton's discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity. At Grant Thornton, compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Grant Thornton employees may be eligible for a discretionary, annual bonus based on individual and firm performance, subject to the terms, conditions and eligibility criteria of the applicable bonus plan or program. Interns and seasonal employees are not eligible for bonus compensation.
