Job Description: Associate Director, Client Data & Analytics - SLC ManagementWhat is in it for you:The Associate Director, Client Data & Analytics is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality client, investment, and sustainability reporting data across the organization. This role acts as the bridge between investment teams, business stakeholders, operations, technology, and client-facing teams to ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of analytics.
The successful candidate will oversee complex reporting processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage cross-functional data requirements, and provide analytical leadership in support of strategic business objectives. This position requires a combination of strong analytical capability, project management expertise, stakeholder management skills, and deep attention to detail.
What you will do:Client Reporting & Analytics Leadership- Lead the production and governance of recurring client reporting deliverables.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data used in client reports.
- Develop and maintain reporting methodologies, business rules, and quality controls.
- Partner with client-facing teams to translate client requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
- Support custom client requests and analytical inquiries.
Sustainability Reporting- Coordinate periodic sustainability and ESG reporting processes across General Account and third-party client portfolios.
- Maintain reporting models, templates, and supporting documentation used to track sustainable investment activity.
- Ensure reporting outputs align with established methodologies and disclosure requirements.
Data Management & Governance- Establish and maintain data quality standards across reporting processes.
- Investigate data issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop controls and reconciliations to improve confidence in reporting outputs.
- Partner with technology teams to improve source data management and data governance practices.
Process Improvement & Automation- Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead automation initiatives using reporting tools, business intelligence platforms, and data solutions.
- Reduce operational risk by standardizing reporting workflows and implementing scalable controls.
Stakeholder Management- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, investment teams, operations, compliance, and client relationship managers.
- Facilitate discussions to resolve reporting issues and align on business requirements.
Team Development- Mentor analysts and junior team members.
- Establish best practices for reporting, analytics, and quality assurance.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and client service excellence.
What you need to succeed:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in client reporting, investment operations, analytics, data management, or financial services.
- Experience managing complex reporting processes and delivering executive-level insights.
- Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, CBIP, PMP, or equivalent is considered an asset.
Preferred skills - Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas, data validation, reconciliation techniques, and large-scale workbook management.
- Strong understanding of investment reporting, performance reporting, or financial services data environments.
- Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities.
- Familiarity with ESG, sustainability, or investment classification frameworks is highly desirable.
- Experience managing large datasets and complex reporting models.
