Job Description

Reporting to the Dean of Business, Humanities, and Public Service, the Associate Dean provides administrative and operational support to the Dean, Program Chairs, and students to ensure the smooth operation of the School of Business, Humanities, and Public Service by providing academic leadership, management, supervision, strategic planning, and overall coordination to ensure consistency in the delivery of academic services for business, accounting, management, criminal justice, paralegal, and administration of justice programs. This position is responsible for managing all student-related issues, grievances, and activities. Additionally, this position will plan, organize, and direct the day-to-day operations of the school under administrative direction and serve as a resource and referral source for students and faculty seeking various types of assistance.The Associate Dean will work in conjunction with a second Associate Dean overseeing humanities, liberal arts, social sciences, education and additional applied programs within the School to oversee day-to-day operations, foster regional partnerships that extend work-based and experiential learning opportunities to students across School programs, and observe and evaluate adjunct faculty across disciplines.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to Business, Accounting, Management, Criminal Justice, Paralegal Studies, or Administration of Justice or a related field such as Educational Management, Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or Curriculum and Instructional Development. Considerable knowledge of various Business fields including program management, development, current trends and technologies, and specializations in higher education.

Demonstrated ability to:
• Manage academic programs.
• Recruit, retain, and advise students.
• Supervise full- and part-time faculty including screening, hiring, and orientation.
• Assist Program Chairs with annual program review and assessment.
• Develop, deliver, and manage Business courses and curricula including:

o distance education courses

o dual enrollment courses

o hybrid courses

o specialized courses for industry
• Establish partnerships and articulations with schools, government agencies, business and industry.
• Coordinate instructional activities among various groups.
• Select and order textbooks and software.
• Make data informed decisions related to program development and completion.
• Operate a personal computer using current software programs.
• Communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding, and inclusion.

Additional Considerations

The selected candidate will be required to complete the Commonwealth's Statement of Economic Interest, and must be able to successfully pass the college's pre-employment security screening.
