Full Job Description
We have an Associate Controls Engineer opportunity available in Boise, ID. This person would relocate to Boise and deliver process control systems including DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, hardware designs, network architecture design, instrumentation/electrical designs, check-out/start-up support, etc.
Technical
• Deliver process control systems including DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, hardware designs, network architecture design, instrumentation/electrical designs, check-out/start-up support, etc.
• Learn, follow, and seek to streamline/improve project execution tools, standards and techniques.
• Follows guidance from lead engineer to provide process Control System software/hardware design, development and startup.
• Prepare supporting project documenting (examples include user requirements, architecture, control narratives, cause & effect diagrams, test plans, user training, etc.
• Routinely test your work to ensure quality, accuracy, safety and alignment to project requirements.
Project Management
• Provide status reporting to your project manager regarding activities/deliverables progress-to-date, hours estimate-to-complete, needs/obstacles to meeting project schedule, etc.
• Identifies potential roadblocks to completing tasks efficiently and on schedule.
• Provide input to project risks, best practice, lessons learned, etc. related to your project activities.
• Address customer requests and evaluate them versus the defined scope of assigned projects.
• Actively participate in internal and customer meetings.
Sales and Business Development
• Identify opportunities to build relationships with client members of their assigned projects.
• Provide input to proposals and estimates.
• Seek to understand customer needs such that WM may offer additional scope and/or services.
Business Operations
• Create personal goals that support the goals of your assigned projects as well as the goals our Business Unit.
• Demonstrate ability in engineering economics, entrepreneurialism, risk management, and financial accountability.

Minimum Requirements
Education BS Degree in Engineering (preference for Electrical/Controls, Chemical or Mechanical).
General
• Strong leadership and client relation skills
• Exceptional verbal and written ability with the aptitude to communicate professionally with clients and project leadership
• Good engineering and good documentation practice. Experience (or willingness) using collaboration tools (such as SharePoint) to work effectively within remote teams
Required Experience
• [2-5]+ years of hands-on Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7 experience.
• Proficiency with CFC and SFC engineering in the PCS 7 environment
• Experience with AS 410 / S7-400H high-availability (redundant) controllers
• Working knowledge of PROFIBUS PA/DP, PROFINET, and redundant industrial networks
• Experience with PCS 7 OS / WinCC operator systems
• Solid grasp of process instrumentation, control loops, and P&ID/loop-diagram interpretation
• Strong, methodical troubleshooting under live-process conditions
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Additional Experience (preferred but not required)
• Network design, troubleshooting and ability to maintain/modify a virtualized environment
• SIMATIC PDM, SIMATIC BATCH, or SIMATIC Route Control experience
• Functional safety with S7 F-Systems / Safety Matrix
• Controller migration experience (e.g., legacy AS 400 to AS 410-5H)
• [Industry-specific experience - chemical, pharmaceutical (GMP / 21 CFR Part 11), oil & gas, power, water/wastewater, semi-conductor]
• Siemens PCS 7 training or certifications
Physical Demands of Position Ability to travel up to 25%. Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving (valid driver's license required), lifting, climbing, ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing and pulling.
Working Environment Standard office environment, On-site office environment, and diverse industrial environments including chemical and biological manufacturing environments.
Frequent PC usage including collaboration tools for project execution.
