Associate Attorney to join our
New York office with a focus on
general liability defense litigation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to take ownership of their cases while working in a collaborative environment with mentorship from experienced trial attorneys. You'll be involved in challenging, high-exposure matters and supported by a national team of seasoned litigators.
About the RoleYou'll handle a diverse caseload of general liability matters, including:
- Premises liability
- Property damage
- Personal injury defense
- Construction-related general liability
- Child Victim Act
- Trucking/Transportation
- Other tort and civil litigation
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing cases from inception through resolution or trial
- Drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions
- Taking and defending depositions
- Conducting legal research and developing case strategies
- Participating in mediations, arbitrations, court conferences, and trials
- Communicating with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel
- Collaborating with partners and other team members on case strategy
This is a
hybrid position with a flexible mix of remote work and in-office collaboration.
What We're Looking For- Active license to practice law in New York (required)
- 1+ year of civil litigation experience, ideally with a focus on general liability defense
- Strong litigation skills: pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, and client reporting
- Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple cases and deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with mediation, arbitration, or trial is a plus
- Dual licensure in another jurisdiction is a bonus (CT preferred)
