Role Responsibilities & Litigation Expectations You will step directly into the daily demands of litigation and are expected to contribute as a litigator.
Responsibilities include:
- Discovery (drafting and responding)
- Motion practice
- Hearings and court appearances
- Depositions
- Case development and preparation
Case Ownership & Structure:
- Begin by working alongside the lead attorney on active cases
- Transition into managing your own litigation caseload
- Handle a mix of high-value litigation cases and select pre-suit matters
- Contribute to and eventually lead case strategy
Litigation Profile:
While trial experience is preferred, it is not required. Strong litigation fundamentals are essential. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience with depositions, substantive motion practice, hearings, and proactively advancing litigation.

Required Qualifications - Active license to practice law in North Carolina and in good standing
- 3+ years of litigation experience (personal injury preferred, but not required)
- Demonstrated experience handling core litigation tasks, including depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Candidates must be able to demonstrate ownership of their work product and decision-making in prior roles.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in plaintiff personal injury litigation
- Experience managing cases with increasing levels of responsibility
- Familiarity with discovery strategy and case development
- Interest in growing into a leadership or senior role over time
