Associate Attorney - Estate Planning & Elder Law

Monteforte Law, P.C. | Woburn, Massachusetts

You do not need to arrive as an expert in every area we practice. Estate planning or elder law experience is valuable, but it isn't the most important thing we're looking for.

We care about whether you're smart, curious, comfortable working directly with clients, willing to take ownership, receptive to coaching, and motivated to grow into greater responsibility.

What you'll do-and grow into

You'll work with our legal team on estate planning, trusts, probate, elder law and long-term-care planning.

Your responsibilities will be based on your existing experience and will grow as you demonstrate readiness. You'll have the opportunity to analyze legal issues, help design estate plans, counsel clients, review and supervise work, take ownership of client matters, and ultimately lead client planning meetings of your own.

This is not a position designed around spending your days quietly drafting documents for someone else to review.

Our goal is to develop an attorney who can own a matter, advise a client, exercise sound judgment, and confidently lead a room

You may be a great fit if:

  • You are admitted to practice in Massachusetts or eligible for prompt admission.
  • You genuinely enjoy working directly with clients.
  • You can explain complicated subjects in understandable language.
  • You want responsibility and the opportunity to earn more of it.
  • You're confident enough to form and express an opinion, but humble enough to be coached.
  • When you don't know something, your instinct is to figure it out.
  • You take ownership of your work rather than waiting to be told every next step.
  • You want to become substantially better at counseling and advising clients.
  • You care about excellent work and being part of a strong team.

Experience in estate planning, elder law, probate, trusts, tax, real estate, family law, litigation, or another client-facing practice may be valuable, but specific estate-planning experience is not required

We're interested not only in what you've already done, but in the attorney you have the potential to become.

Compensation & Benefits

$90,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus benefits.

  • 401(k) with 4% match, health benefits, Flexible PTO with no set limit
  • Proprietary training in advanced estate planning and legal tech
  • ZERO billable hour requirements - because we run this firm like a business, not a factory
  • Discretionary Bonuses based on productivity

To Apply

Please submit your résumé along with brief answers to the following three questions. Formal essays aren't necessary. We're interested in thoughtful, candid answers.

1. Why are you considering making a change at this point in your career?

2. Tell us about a time you had to give a client advice or information they didn't want to hear. What did you do?

3. Three years from now, what would you like to be able to do as an attorney that you cannot do today?

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
