Responsibilities
The Boston office of Epstein Becker & Green is seeking an associate to work in its national management-side Employment, Labor & Workforce Management (ELWM) practice. Candidates should have three to five years of relevant labor and employment litigation experience. This position requires knowledge of federal and Massachusetts labor & employment laws (e.g., wage and hour, restrictive covenants/trade secret law, employment agreements, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar Massachusetts and federal laws).
EBG opened its Boston office in 2020 as a strategic expansion of EBG's established national presence with over 50 years in the industry. It is a growing office with a very collegial team of employment, litigation, and health care and life science attorneys in brand new expanded office space in the Financial District.
The ideal candidate should have experience handling all aspects of employment litigation, including investigations, interviewing witnesses, working with electronically stored information, drafting, preparing for or conducting and defending depositions, issuing and responding to subpoenas, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, and attending court appearances. Experience providing advice and counsel on workplace law issues, including wage and hour, employee relations, mitigation of risk, ADA and other workplace accommodation, employment agreements, reductions-in-force, and employment-related policies is also beneficial.
Candidates must possess strong academic credentials and have excellent communication and writing skills. Admission to practice law in Massachusetts is mandatory. Former experience as a federal court law clerk is preferred.
Qualifications
The expected salary range for this position is $220,000- $260,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to the base salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
