Full Job Description
The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions. You will establish metrics, provide data analyses, and work directly to support business intelligence. You will evaluate industry, economic, financial, and market trends to forecast the organization's short, medium and long-term financial and competitive position. The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting will report to the Associate Director, Actuarial Analytics/Forecasting. The Value-Based Care Infrastructure Associate Actuary will play a crucial role in supporting the design, implementation, and management of vended complex value-based care initiatives. This position will focus on contracting, implementation, data analysis, and actuarial modeling of value-based care performance expectations. The Associate Actuary will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals in value-based care.

The Associate Actuary, Analytics/Forecasting ensures data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs/issues, troubleshoot problems, conduct root cause analysis, and develops cost effective resolutions for data anomalies. You will begin to influence department's strategy. You will make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. You will exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation

  • Demonstrated ability to articulate ideas effectively in both written and oral forms

Preferred Qualifications

  • MAAA and/or ability to issue Statements of Actuarial Opinion

  • Proficient in SAS, SQL, or Python

  • Comfort in communicating technical concepts to non-actuarial audiences

  • Highly collaborative

  • Knowledge of Value Based contracts

  • Knowledge of Medicare members, claims, and revenue

This is a remote position.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$106,900 - $147,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
