Full Job Description
Provide actuarial services to create, support, maintain, and measure insurance products. Responsible for providing actionable information, enabling good business decisions while designing and managing project initiatives and business processes.

Create information and develop intelligence so that business leaders can make informed, risk-adjusted decisions on Disability Income (DI) product development and DI product management. Interpret complex financial information for various audiences (FP&A, Corporate Actuarial, and Individual Division senior management).

This is a hybrid role working partially in-office (Lincoln, NE or Cincinnati, OH) and partially from home.

What you do:
  • Manage DI Products and Initiatives:
    • Manage risk and ensure the appropriate level of profitability through quarter end analysis and actuarial data analytics, visualization, and interpretation.
    • CFT (cash flow testing), ORSA (own risk solvency assessment), financial planning, and other major modeling projects; use actuarial models and interpret results for upper management.
    • Design and implement DI product development enhancements to achieve business results.
  • Create a high performing culture through associate and business resources.
    • Develop partnerships within the organization to engage in cross-functional business initiatives including the Financial Planning process, modeling initiatives, or product initiatives.
    • Respond to requests for information from actuaries, accountants, auditors, management, and other associates including external stakeholders. Provide actuarial analysis where appropriate.
    • Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to equip management to make strategic decisions.
  • Develop best-in-class actuarial models:
    • Monitor and evaluate model development change requests. Participate in actuarial model development and related model governance compliance.
    • Design, test, and maintain actuarial models for the specified actuarial purpose. Assist in the setting of actuarial assumptions.
  • Compile and analyze data; using statistical formulas and other actuarial methods. Maintain solid model documentation to support model governance.
