Job Title: Associate Manager, Manufacturing Engineering

Schedule: 9/80 Regular (9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off)

Job Description:

Provide leadership and direction to Manufacturing Engineers on their assigned programs. Oversee the creation and maintenance of manufacturing documentation including, but not limited to,: work instructions, production routings, flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, cycle time analysis, and line balancing. Improve overall manufacturing efficiencies and throughput via process development, scheduling, process documentation, product assembly and production processing, problem solving and program management. Encourage the use of lean/six sigma techniques to smooth production flow and eliminate waste and inefficiency. Also serve as the lead manufacturing engineer on one or more development programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to manufacturing engineers on their assigned programs. Responsibilities include planning, coordination, and leadership to ensure cost, schedule, and technical performance goals are met.
  • Develop and implement plans and strategies for expanding production capabilities and maximizing efficiencies.
  • Hire, develop, and retain manufacturing engineers.
  • Supervise, coach, and remove barriers for manufacturing engineers.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing engineering plans and schedules including process flows, test and inspection points, assembly aids, use of automated test equipment, training needs and requirements.
  • Support design engineering during the design / development process to ensure that the design represents a cost-effective solution in terms of reliability, producibility, and supportability and meets the performance requirements over the life of the product.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering with minimum 4 years of prior related experience, or a graduate degree with minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of an engineering degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
  • Experience in military or industry specifications and standards pertaining to design, testing, hardware, material, and processes.
  • Experience with standard ERP, MRP and MES software.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Access).
  • Strong knowledge and skills within manufacturing and an understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience managing a unionized workforce.
  • IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 trained/certified.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent training and education in lean manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with SMT equipment and technology and electronics manufacturing.


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is US$96,00.00 MIN - US$168,000.00 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
