Position Summary
NLGIA is looking to add an Equity Analyst to its U.S. Equity Team in New York. In collaboration with the Senior Analyst, this individual will be responsible for the Information Technology ("IT") sector and support fundamental equity research and investment recommendations for U.S. equities.

The role will contribute across multiple areas of the investment research process, including company and industry research, financial modeling and valuation, earnings analysis, monitoring industry developments, and preparation of investment materials for portfolio managers in New York and at Nissay Asset Management ("NAM") in Tokyo.

The position is intended for an experienced research professional who can make meaningful independent contributions to the investment process and, based on experience and demonstrated capabilities, may assume primary research responsibility for selected companies and/or areas within the IT sector.

Essential Duties/Function:

• Conduct fundamental, bottom-up research on companies within the IT sector, working closely with the Senior Analyst and contributing independent research views and insights.
• Build, maintain and update detailed company financial models, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts, earnings estimates, valuation analyses and scenario/sensitivity analyses.
• Analyze quarterly earnings results, company guidance, investor presentations, SEC filings and other relevant disclosures; identify key variances versus expectations and assess potential implications for earnings estimates, valuation and investment thesis.
• Conduct company- and industry-level research using company disclosures, industry data, third-party research, Bloomberg and other relevant information sources; organize and analyze large data sets where appropriate to develop differentiated investment insights.
• Develop and contribute to investment theses, target prices and stock recommendations, and identify potential new investment opportunities in collaboration with the Senior Analyst.
• Contribute IT sector comments and investment implications to daily morning notes and other internal communications to help New York and Tokyo based portfolio managers and the Equity Team stay current with important company, industry and market developments.
• Contribute to the internal ESG evaluation framework and other research processes as appropriate.
• Collaborate with the Senior Analyst, portfolio managers and other research analysts, with the potential to assume primary research responsibility for selected companies or areas within the IT sector based on experience and demonstrated capabilities.
• Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field. CFA designation or progress toward the CFA designation is preferred but not required. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and multi-cultural environment, with colleagues and portfolio managers in both New York and Tokyo.
• At least 3-5 years or more of relevant professional experience in equity research, investment management or a related analytical role, with a strong understanding of U.S. public equities and fundamental investing. Experience researching the IT sector or technology companies is strongly preferred.
• Strong financial accounting, financial modeling and valuation skills, including the ability to independently analyze financial statements, develop detailed earnings and cash flow forecasts, and assess valuation across different scenarios.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, intellectual curiosity and sound investment judgment, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of financial, industry and qualitative information into clear conclusions and actionable investment insights.
• Strong command of MS Office software, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Bloomberg, FactSet or similar financial research platforms is preferred. Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Python, SQL or other analytical tools is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate research findings and investment views clearly and concisely to portfolio managers and other investment professionals. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, particularly with financial models, earnings estimates and investment materials.• Proactive, resourceful and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work with a high degree of independence and meet deadlines in a fast-paced market environment. Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively with the Senior Analyst and broader Equity Team.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.

The expected annual base salary for this position ranges from $155,000 to $175,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus based on qualitative and quantitative performance factors.
