Full Job Description
Location: Tallahassee, FL

As the AVP - Facilities and Construction, you will play a pivotal role in providing executive leadership, strategic direction, operational oversight, and financial management for Facilities and Construction throughout Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH).

The AVP of Facilities and Construction is responsible for:
  • Oversees facility operations, construction and renovation planning, infrastructure reliability, utility management, environmental safety, regulatory compliance, and capital project execution to ensure safe, efficient, reliable, and compliant operations.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership, physicians, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and departmental leaders to support organizational strategic initiatives, campus development, operational excellence, and patient care objectives.
  • Provides leadership for long-range facility planning, construction management, asset stewardship, operational performance, and continuous improvement throughout the TMH enterprise.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY

Education:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in business, health care administration, public health administration, health sciences, data analytics, or engineering
  • Preferred: Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, engineering, architecture, or a related field

Required Experience:
  • Seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facilities, plant operations, construction management, support services, or related operational leadership roles, including responsibility for departmental operations, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and personnel management.
  • Healthcare construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare facility operations, construction management, infrastructure systems, and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of AHCA, CMS, TJC, NFPA, OSHA, and related healthcare regulatory standards
  • Strategic leadership and operational management expertise
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, capital planning, and resource management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex capital projects and multidisciplinary teams
  • Proven ability to drive operational efficiency, performance improvement, and organizational change
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leaders, physicians, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Certification/License/Registry:
  • Required:
    • A valid driver license and driving record that meets or exceeds the requirements of the organization's current vehicle insurance carrier are required
    • All certificates and licenses must be kept current as a condition of continued employment
    • Driving privileges are also subject to periodic review and driving record must remain within acceptable insurability standards as a condition of continued employment
  • Preferred:
    • Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar healthcare/facilities credentials
