POSITION SUMMARYThe Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Success and Academic Outreach provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for student services and enrollment initiatives that promote student recruitment, retention, engagement and success. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor, the Assistant Vice Chancellor collaborates with academic and administrative leadership to develop and implement innovative programs that enhance the student experience while supporting the institution's strategic goals and enrollment objectives.
This position serves as a key member of the University's leadership team and is responsible for ensuring exceptional student support services, regulatory compliance, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement across Student Affairs and Enrollment Management operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Under the direction of the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management provide visionary leadership to departments within Student & Campus Life and Academic Outreach.
- Foster a student-centered culture focused on academic success, student engagement, and institutional excellence.
- Collaborate with academic leadership to improve student persistence, and graduation rates.
- Collaborate with other institutional leadership on initiatives designed to improve enrollment growth and student success outcomes.
- Provide leadership for recruitment strategies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive enrollment management plans that support institutional enrollment goals.
- Analyze enrollment trends and market data to identify opportunities for growth.
- Oversee admissions operations to ensure efficient processing and exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, Marketing, and Institutional Research to support enrollment initiatives.
- Monitor enrollment metrics and prepare reports for executive leadership.
- Provide leadership and oversight for areas that may include: student & campus life, student conduct & student leadership development.
- Support programs that enhance student engagement and sense of belonging.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, system, and institutional policies related to student affairs and enrollment.
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate directors and professional staff.
- Promote professional development opportunities for staff.
- Serve on institutional committees and executive leadership teams.
- Represent the Vice Chancellor when assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's degree from an accredited institution in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education administration.
- Demonstrated experience in student affairs, enrollment management, admissions, retention, or student success.
- Experience supervising professional staff and managing departmental budgets.
- Strong knowledge of higher education regulations and student services.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Experience at a comprehensive public college or university.
- Demonstrated success in enrollment growth and student retention initiatives.
- Experience with strategic planning and accreditation processes.
- Experience using Banner, Ellucian, CRM systems, and student information systems.
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities. Travel may be required for recruitment activities, conferences, and institutional events.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
