Primary ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership- Serve as the District's chief financial officer and advise the Superintendent and Board of Education on fiscal matters.
- Develop, administer, and monitor the annual budget and long-range financial plan.
- Oversee accounting, benefits, payroll, purchasing, investments, unemployment, workers' compensation, state and federal aid, grants, audits, risk management, contracts, and financial reporting.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Board policies, and accounting standards.
- Prepare and present financial reports, projections, and recommendations to the Board of Education and community.
- Support collective bargaining through financial analysis and costing of proposals.
Operational Leadership- Lead District-wide safety, security, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Provide executive oversight of Buildings and Grounds, Food Service, Transportation, Technology, Health Services, capital projects, and assigned community programs.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned administrators, directors, supervisors, and departments.
- Lead capital planning and coordinate the work of architects, engineers, contractors, and other professional service providers.
- Oversee departmental budgets, staffing, contracts, regulatory compliance, safety, and operational performance.
- Coordinate community programs and partnerships, including SHEF, Dollars for Scholars, Driver Education, and facility use.
District Leadership- Serve as an active member of the Superintendent's cabinet and contribute to District-wide strategic planning and decision-making.
- Align financial and operational resources with the District's mission, strategic priorities, instructional programs, and student needs.
- Build productive relationships with administrators, employees, bargaining units, families, community partners, government agencies, and professional organizations.
- Recommend and implement Board policies and administrative procedures related to finance and assigned operational areas.
- Prepare agenda items, reports, resolutions, and recommendations for Board of Education consideration.
- Attend Board of Education meetings, committee meetings, budget presentations, public hearings, community meetings, and other meetings as required.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
Qualifications:- New York State certification as a School District Business Leader (SDBL) or School Business Administrator (SBA).
- Five or more years of administrative experience preferred.
- Successful experience in school district finance, business administration, or comparable public-sector leadership.
- Comprehensive knowledge of budgeting, accounting, auditing, purchasing, state aid, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, collaboration, transparency, and responsible stewardship of public resources.
