Job SummaryWe are looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to work on various Roadway Transportation construction projects located in San Diego County. This position will be on-site and involves inspecting construction procedures and verifying that work completed by contractors is in accordance with contract documents for roadway projects.
Responsibilities & QualificationsResponsibilities:- Abide by and enforce construction safety rules and regulations.
- Read and understand contract documents, including plans and specifications.
- Complete daily inspection reports.
- Prepare written reports.
- Perform inspection of roadway construction.
- Oversee construction of wet and dry utilities.
- Monitor traffic control.
- Assist with inspection of large concrete pours.
- Assist in the documentation of pay quantities and development of the Final Estimate.
- Assure general compliance with standards and specifications.
- Assure documentation, and accuracy of monthly progress payments.
- Accurately track change order work.
- Log and track material inspection, certification, and acceptance for the project.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with Engineer in Training Certification required, a P.E. License (State of California) preferred but not required.
- 7+ years of relevant experience with the concepts and practices within the highway and construction field.
- Must have the ability to assist in the resolution of project issues effectively and efficiently.

As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $88,800 - $133,200 annually for this position and local market.
