Full Job Description
Position Title: ASSISTANT REGIONAL CONTROLLER

Pay Grade: 16

Salary: $100,000 - $110,000

Other Forms of Compensation: BONUS ELIGIBLE

Job Summary

The Assistant Regional Controller oversees financial operations for multiple North Region facilities, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strong internal controls. As a key financial partner to the Senior Vice President of Operations - North, this role provides financial analysis, operational insights, and strategic recommendations to drive business performance.

This position leads a team of five accounting professionals, including remote staff, with responsibility for talent development, accountability, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong accounting expertise, multi-site financial management experience, and the ability to influence operational leaders through effective financial guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead financial operations for multiple North Region facilities, ensuring accurate, timely reporting, compliance, and strong internal controls.
  • Manage client billing, accounts receivable, and collections in partnership with operations teams.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement reviews.
  • Analyze financial results, budget variances, trends, risks, and opportunities; provide recommendations to improve performance.
  • Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs for regional and corporate leadership.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Partner with regional operations leadership to drive financial performance, cost management, labor optimization, and business decision-making.
  • Oversee payroll accounting, labor reporting, reconciliations, and related compliance efforts.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirements.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Minimum 2-4 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
  • Preferably within a multi-unit experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of leadership experience, including direct supervision and development of accounting or finance professionals; experience managing remote or geographically dispersed teams is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple locations, regions, or business units and partnering with senior operational leaders to provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, revenue recognition.
  • Experience with ERP platforms, financial reporting systems, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Availability to travel approximately 10-20% within the North Region to support multiple facilities, conduct site visits, participate in operational meetings, and strengthen partnerships with regional leadership.
