Department Promotional Examination and is limited to eligible employees of
Kern County Aging & Adult Services.Examination Schedule- Performance Exam: will be conducted on September 28, 2026
- Oral Exam: qualified candidates will be notified 5 days prior to the oral examination
Examination:Performance Exam (Weight 30%): The performance test is a job-related exercise which may include a work problem, consisting of analysis and writing.
Oral Exam (Weight 70%): Will be conducted for the purpose of appraising training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position.
Examination components for promotional testing will be administered during the scheduled date(s)/time(s)/location(s) without exception.Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
If the number of applicants successful on the performance exam is insufficient to merit an oral exam, the performance exam shall be weighted 100%
Minimum Qualifications/Employment Standards:Two years of experience as a Supervisor in a California Social Services Agency of which one and one-half (1.5) years must have consisted of supervising Eligibility or Social Services Program staff; or five (5) years social
/eligibility work experience in a public, non-profit, or private social service agency of which two (2) years must have been comparable to a Social Service or Eligibility Supervisor. A college degree can substitute for six (6) months of the experience requirement, not including the one and one-half (1.5) years as an Eligibility or Social Services Supervisor.
Additional requirements: Possession of a valid California Class C drivers license is required upon appointment.
