Description

The Frank G. Zarb School of Business is inviting applications for an anticipated tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems (IS) beginning in the fall of 2026. We are seeking a candidate whose primary area of teaching and research is in the field of Information Systems. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in teaching in areas related to Artificial Intelligence and/or Analytics, broadly defined.

The Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA) in the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University offers BBA/MBA/MS programs in Information Systems, Cybersecurity Management, Business Analytics, and Business Operations & Healthcare Analytics. Supporting this academic mission, the Cybersecurity Innovation and Research Center, established in 2019, is a collaborative initiative between the Frank G. Zarb School of Business and the Fred DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science. The Center features a 1,000-square-foot facility outfitted with state-of-the-art security technologies and tools. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Primarily teach courses in information systems, including IS fundamentals, business applications (i.e., C++, Java, Python, XHTML), database management, system analysis and design, artificial intelligence (AI), computer networking at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Show evidence or potential of performing high-impact scholarly activities in the aforementioned areas by publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at academic conferences.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the department and school, such as committee(s) and student orientation.

Qualifications
  • An earned doctorate (or ABD) in information systems, computer science, or a closely related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution is required.
  • Demonstrated the ability to publish in respected peer-reviewed journals
  • Demonstrated evidence or potential to teach both in-person and online courses with excellent communication skills
  • A strong desire to work in a collaborative environment, support our students through the mentoring process, and serve the Hofstra community.

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
