The Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology will provide gastroenterology care for ambulatory and hospitalized patients across KUMC campuses and affiliated clinical sites, including KUMC, KU MedWest, Indian Creek, and future affiliated facilities. Clinical responsibilities include performing endoscopic procedures, providing inpatient consultations, and participating in on-call coverage while delivering evidence-based patient care to support patient health and safety. The Clinical Assistant Professor will also participate in the education and training of internal medicine residents and medical students and engage in departmental academic, quality improvement, and scholarly activities, with primary responsibilities focused on clinical care.Job Description:

Job Duties:
  • Provide gastroenterology care for ambulatory and hospitalized patients across KUMC campuses and affiliated clinical sites, including procedural and consultative services.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures and other gastroenterology-related interventions consistent with clinical expertise and training.
  • Provide inpatient consultations and participate in divisional on-call coverage.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support ongoing clinical, educational, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Educate and mentor internal medicine residents and medical students in gastroenterology and related areas within the clinical setting.
  • Participate in departmental, divisional, and institutional meetings, conferences, and committees.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, research, and quality improvement initiatives aligned with the Department's mission.
