Job DescriptionThe University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor who is doctorally prepared for the department of
Organizational Systems and Adult Health. This position is responsible for teaching clinically related courses focused on the acute health care needs of adults and achieving positive program outcomes and course objectives in the Entry into Practice nursing programs (Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Masters Entry into Practice).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES: • Provides classroom, lab, and clinical instruction that focuses on adult health content, method of delivery, evaluation of students, and recommendations for curricular adjustments and modifications for entry into practice nursing students.
• Participates in the planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical simulations relative to courses taught.
• Uses evidence-based best practices for educating entry into practice nursing students in pathophysiological concepts and the assessment and management of acutely ill adults.
• Advises and mentors entry into practice nursing students.
• Contributes to the collaborative efforts of an interprofessional team, serving on departmental and school committees.
Qualifications- Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or DNP)
- Current Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of Maryland or a compact state.
- Recent experience in the clinical care of adult populations in acute healthcare settings
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
HIRING RANGE: $122,000
