Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with General Administrative or Director of Special Education endorsement.
• School social worker, Speech Pathologist, or Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering academic, social, and emotional growth in students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and the community.
• Expertise in special education laws and procedures, particularly in writing legally defensible IEPs.
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage special education programs at the high school level.
• Collaborate with educators and staff to design tailored educational programs for students.
• Monitor and improve the delivery of special education services and support.
• Ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with parents and stakeholders about student progress and program changes.
• Facilitate training and professional development for staff in special education best practices.
