DescriptionJOB GOAL: To assist the Principal in carrying out curricular, supervisory, administrative and organizational responsibilities.
Essential and Marginal FunctionsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school.
- Assume responsibility for a safe and orderly school and physical plant.
- Assist in management and preparation of the school budget.
- Prepare or supervise creation of reports, records, lists, and other documents appropriate to school administration.
- Ensure accurate records of student attendance, conduct and health.
- Develop and implement Master Schedule.
- Implement and observe all board policies.
- Attend meetings called by principals.
- Chair meetings as needed to support school functions and programs.
- Provide on-going staff development. This includes securing presenters and/or making presentations.
- Monitor fiscal matters including spending and purchasing.
- Assume responsibility for the building when the principal is absent.
- Ensure an effective guidance program that supports learning and graduation.
- Assist in the evaluation and revision of curriculum and programs.
- Attend special events held to recognize student achievement and attend school sponsored activities, functions, and events.
- Assist in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating faculty and staff.
- Evaluate staff regarding individual performance. This includes doing observations, writing observations, and holding conferences.
- Supervise professional, service, and administrative staff assigned to the building.
- Delegate authority to responsible personnel.
- Direct and coordinate teacher substitutes and student teachers.
- Maintain high standards of student conduct.
- Enforce discipline as necessary, according due process to the rights of students within the framework of the District's guidelines on student discipline.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local community groups and individuals.
- Develop strategies to reach out to parent and community members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.
- Collect data from benchmark and summative data to utilize in building wide decision making and instructional conversations.
- Other qualifications to the above that the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate and work closely with the principal and the district administration.
- Interpretation of School Board policy
- Development and implementation of Strategic Planning
- Budget items
- Cooperate with the Principal and the District Administration regarding instruction and supervision of professional staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
- Assist the Principal in developing school plans to address technology-related access and equity issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Administrative I (Secondary) Certificate
- Master's Degree
- Three years experience (education)
- Educational technology skills
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Other qualifications to the above that the Board may find acceptable and appropriate.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full year. Salary to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance is evaluated in accordance with the Compensation and Performance Evaluation Plan for School and District Leaders.
