Responsibilities
The Assistant Principal at Integration Charter Schools (Lavelle Prep Charter School, New Ventures Charter School, The Early College Charter School, and Richmond Prep Charter School) will play a critical role in shaping the academic and operational success of the school. This individual will demonstrate a deep love and care for children and a strong commitment to the values of Integrity, Courage, Teamwork, Community, and Collaboration. The Assistant Principal will serve as the instructional and/or operational leader of the school, setting clear expectations for students, staff, and families, and will step in as principal in their absence. A firm believer in the Datawise approach, the Assistant Principal will use data to drive decision-making and foster a professional learning community among staff.
Instructional Leadership:
• Serve as the instructional leader, promoting high-quality teaching and learning.
• Utilize the Datawise framework to analyze student data and drive instructional decisions.
• Support teachers in developing and implementing effective instructional strategies.
• Facilitate professional development and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Operational Leadership:
• Oversee daily school operations, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
• Manage school logistics, including scheduling, facilities, and resource allocation.
• Assist the principal in maintaining compliance with school policies and procedures.
• Step in as acting principal in the absence of the principal.
Student, Staff, and Family Engagement:
• Set clear expectations for student behavior, academic performance, and character development.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Promote a positive school culture that aligns with ICS's core values.
• Address and resolve conflicts in a fair and consistent manner with students and staff.
Community and Collaboration:
• Foster a sense of community and teamwork among students, staff, and families.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support student achievement and well-being.
• Encourage and facilitate family involvement in school activities and decision making processes.
Professional Learning Community:
• Lead and participate in professional learning communities to enhance instructional practices.
• Promote collaborative data inquiry and shared accountability among staff.
• Support the development of a reflective and growth-oriented school culture.
Competencies & Qualifications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Whatever it takes, an attitude that is centered in the notion of children first. • Understanding of school student-achievement data and New York Charter School Standards
• Thorough understanding of best practices for K-12 education.
• Understanding or willingness to learn New York State Graduation requirements (where applicable)
• Bachelor's degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an educational setting, with a proven track record of instructional leadership.

• Deep care and love for children, with a focus on their academic and social emotional development.
• Familiarity with the Datawise approach and a commitment to data-driven decision making.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
