Full Job Description
Description The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will work with the project team to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of natural gas and renewable natural gas projects including pipelines, compressors, meter and pump stations and other areas related to the industry. The Assistant Mechanical Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting mechanical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.
  • Assists in mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Assists in simulations to get the project moving. The simulations will be Assists in ed in most cases using Aspen One program, AFT products, etc.
  • Assists in modification and review production drawings for a variety of projects including but not limited to pipeline M&R stations and compressor stations projects.
  • Assists in designing mechanical components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
  • Applies basic knowledge of commonly used mechanical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the mechanical engineering services industry.
  • Assists in producing engineering calculations and reports.
  • Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers.
  • Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
  • Assists in creation of project specifications.
  • Assists in creating data sheets for procurement packages.
  • Assists in creating procurement packages, requests for quotes, assists in bid evaluations and recommend vendors.
  • Review production drawings, 3D model, iso drawings, etc.
  • Work closely with other disciplines (piping, electrical, I&C, structural and civil).
  • Review vendor drawings.
  • Attend meetings with clients as needed.
  • Assists in field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
  • Field assignments will be possible.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program required.
  • Or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in standard mechanical engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Basic computer skills include AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.

Compensation

$85,000.00-125,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
