Job PurposeProvide strategic leadership and ownership of the plant-wide ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) management process for MAP and ELP. Ensures the integrity of customer promise dates and effective cross- functional coordination.
This role governs the ETA standards, leads the enterprise cadence connecting production operations to American Honda Sales, and drives systemic improvements that increase ETA accuracy, reduces revisions, accelerate issue resolution, and strengthen trust in ETA performance across both plants.
Key Accountabilities - Lead the ETA governance cadence (daily/weekly) across MAP and ELP.
- Partner with American Honda to manage critical ship dates of all units produced at MAP and ELP daily.
- Serve as the decision authority for ETA promise protection by applying revision standards, approving or denying revision and prioritization requests, documenting rationale in the ETA Management System, and announcing major updates and impacts to sales and plant leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in ETA performance, trend revisions/unit, minimizing padding days, and addressing aging holds; Evaluate and set direction on countermeasure action.
- Own the implementation and adoption of the ETA Management System: Train associates on system functions, support on-call roster for plant, system defect reporting and
troubleshooting. - Oversee hold visibility and recovery performance: Leads departments to revise ETAs for hold units quickly and accurately. Collaborate with departments to, where possible, release units on time.
- Coach leaders and cross-functional teams on standard processes (huddle scripts, quick-refs, escalation cards) and ensure adoption.
- Communicate across multiple levels to motivate resolve conflicts and improve decisions using Honda standard processes.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills - Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, or equivalent experience
- 8 years in manufacturing operations, production control, quality, or supply chain.
- 2+ years leading daily/weekly cadence and cross-functional escalation.
- Strong facilitation and decision-making; able to set/hold standard work under time pressure.
- Fluency with Manufacturing Systems (Line control, quality) and data analysis
- Knowledge of repair/inspection flow, holds taxonomy, and parts ordering.
- Lean/PDCA discipline; visual management; problem-solving (A3, Pareto).
- Effective communication skills - Clear calm communicator who explains the 'why' and coaches adoption.
Decisions Expected Working Conditions On-site role supporting shift huddles and go-live/hypercare extended coverage as needed. Open office and shop-floor environment with moderate noise/activity. Regional travel 5-10% for peer calibration and best-practice sharing.
