Assistant Operations Manager, Maintenance Planning

APM Terminals Miami is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager, Maintenance Planning to lead the planning, scheduling, and coordination behind the terminal's equipment maintenance. This role sits at the center of keeping assets reliable and operations running smoothly, working closely with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Maintenance teams to make sure equipment is ready when it's needed most.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead maintenance planning activities to keep preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on track
  • Coach and develop a team of maintenance planning personnel
  • Build maintenance schedules, work plans, and resource allocations that maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
  • Oversee work order administration and keep the CMMS accurate and up to date
  • Manage maintenance-related purchase orders, supplier invoices, and vendor coordination
  • Maintain asset records, including equipment hours, asset creation and disposal, and compliance documentation
  • Track and report on maintenance KPIs, fuel and electricity consumption, and equipment utilization
  • Support workforce planning and budgeting to make the best use of labor, materials, and contractors

What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Asset Management, Maintenance Management, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in maintenance planning, equipment maintenance, asset management, or terminal operations
  • Familiarity with CMMS, asset management systems, or enterprise maintenance software
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities, with confidence prioritizing competing demands
  • Clear, effective communication skills, written and verbal

Salary: $76K - $86K

Physical Demands & Work Environment

You will work in both office and terminal environments and will regularly engage in warehouse and yard activities. This role requires standing, walking, lifting, and occasional work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
