Full Job Description
Position Overview:

This position will manage legal matters and related projects as directed by the General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, structure, draft, review, and negotiate contracts for commercial transactions, including non-disclosure agreements, customer supply agreements, SaaS licensing agreements, vendor agreements in an effective, efficient and time-sensitive manner
  • Improve contracting workflows, policies and procedures
  • Manage litigation and pre-litigation matters
  • Manage external counsel
  • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice on legal topics that affect the business
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business
  • Promote compliance and risk management best practices throughout the company
  • Design and deliver legal training to the business units
  • Maintain knowledge of organization's operations and legal documents
  • Identify and escalate concerns (and solutions) to the General Counsel
  • Organize and maintain legal department forms
  • Identify and resolve legal issues and identify and help resolve business issues
  • Serve as lead lawyer on cross-functional teams
  • Participate in legal department meetings to provide updates on current matters
  • As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company's recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices
  • Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years (or more) of relevant experience, including an in-house role
  • Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Comprehensive commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • Be comfortable in a fast-paced environment under tight timelines; able to multitask
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understand how to establish and maintain working relationships with C-level executives
  • Outstanding judgment and legal reasoning
  • Possess financial integrity; support a strong code of ethics in the workplace

Physical requirements and work environment:
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to sustain office work for 8+ hours per day including the following:

    • Reaching for the telephone
    • Office environment is of moderate noise level
    • Standing at office equipment
    • Hearing or phone use
    • Sight for computer use
