POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a commercially minded Assistant Finance Manager with Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) experience to join our growing U.S. business. This role goes far beyond traditional reporting - you will act as a strategic partner to Sales, Marketing, and Operations, driving profitability, optimizing A&P investments, and influencing key business decisions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Strategic Financial Planning & Performance Management
    • Lead monthly management reporting for U.S. leadership and global headquarters, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clarity.
    • Deliver deep KPI analysis across revenue, trade spend, COGS, marketing investment, operating expenses, and CapEx.
    • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities - turning variance analysis into actionable insights.
    • Drive budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling enhancements.
    • Evaluate ROI on marketing programs, trade promotions, and new initiatives to maximize profitability.
    • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support executive decision-making.
  2. A&P Investment Governance & Trade Spend Control
    • Own and continuously enhance Advertisement & Promotion (A&P) spending controls and claim processes.
    • Ensure proper approvals, accruals, and policy compliance aligned with corporate and accounting standards.
    • Partner closely with Sales & Marketing to monitor spend effectiveness and close claims in a timely manner.
    • Deliver visibility through structured spending and claim rate reporting.
  3. Balance Sheet & Working Capital Optimization
    • Support healthy AR aging and collections performance.
    • Monitor inventory management, write-offs, and NRV provisions.
    • Oversee payables, assets, and equity controls to strengthen financial health.
    • Drive working capital improvement initiatives.
  4. Budgeting, Forecasting & Long-Term Planning
    • Lead the U.S. annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-term strategic planning process.
    • Build executive-ready reporting templates and presentations.
    • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate consolidation.
  5. Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
    • Design customized P&L views (customer-level, product-level, channel-level) to enhance commercial decision-making.
    • Partner on new product launches, pricing strategy, and business case development.
    • Provide insights on trade spend efficiency and profitability improvement.
    • Identify market risks and growth opportunities through financial and non-financial analysis.
    • Participate or lead cross-functional initiatives including: Profitability improvement programs, Process optimization, Digital transformation initiatives, and Internal control harmonization
    • Travel to visit customers with the US Asian Sales Team
  6. Team Leadership & Development
    • Support, coach, and develop team members.
    • Build a high-performing, collaborative finance team structure.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  7. Compliance & Internal Controls
    • Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canada accounting standards and corporate finance policies.
    • Stay current on accounting, tax, and regulatory updates.
    • Strengthen internal controls and partner cross-functionally to protect company assets.
