Description

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Right-Hand to the Healing!

Do you thrive in organized chaos, love a good, color-coded spreadsheet, and get a thrill out of helping others lead with purpose? Do you find joy in a perfectly executed care plan and secretly love solving problems faster than a caffeine-fueled ER doctor on a TV drama? If so, you might just be our next Assistant Director of Nursing-aka the calm in the clinical storm, the second-in-command of compassion, and the keeper of quality care.

This isn't your average clipboard-and-calls kind of gig. You'll help run the nursing department like a pro while making sure our residents get the top-tier care they deserve. Leadership hat on. Clipboard in hand. Compassion at the core.

What You'll Be Rockin' Daily:
  • Supporting and supervising the nursing team with a healthy balance of leadership, guidance, and the occasional pep talk
  • Making clinical calls that are smart, swift, and spot-on (because residents deserve the best)
  • Helping ensure staff are providing top-quality care that meets all regulations (no red tape here!)
  • Monitoring medications, treatment plans, and documentation to keep care consistent and thorough
  • Assisting with budgeting, scheduling, and making the nursing department hum like a well-oiled machine
  • Hiring, training, and mentoring new rockstar team members-building a crew that lifts each other up
  • Playing a key role in quality assurance, surveys, safety compliance, and basically being the go-to for "Hey, who can handle this?"
  • Keeping close contact with physicians and our amazing Medical Director to ensure seamless care
  • Oh-and knowing state regs like the back of your hand (yep, we see you, compliance champ)

Requirements

What's in Your Nurse Bag: (aka Your Credentials & Experience)
  • A nursing degree from an accredited school (RN required!)
  • Valid RN license in the state of Illinois (or ability to get one, stat!)
  • 3+ years of experience as an ADON in long-term care-you're a seasoned pro
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in skilled, acute, restorative, or geriatric care
  • You know MDS, care planning, and regulatory processes like you know your coffee order
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills-because you're the one they call when it has to get done
  • You're tech-savvy enough to run reports, enter data, and not break a sweat
  • Above all: you're passionate about people, purpose, and providing the best care possible

Why You'll Love Being the ADON with Us:

Because here, your skills matter and your ideas are heard. You'll help lead a team of dedicated caregivers, support incredible residents, and know that every shift you work is making a real difference. We don't just check boxes-we change lives (with a little laughter along the way).
