Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

What You'll Do
Partner with the Director of Nursing to oversee nursing operations across the organization.
Provide leadership and support to Nurse Managers, Registered Nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurses.
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, retention, and development of nursing staff.
Drive quality improvement initiatives and monitor patient outcomes.
Support regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and audit preparedness.
Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and clinical best practices.
Provide clinical coaching and education related to addiction medicine, behavioral health, and patient safety.
Partner with operational and clinical leaders to support organizational growth and program expansion.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
Active North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Nursing management experience required.
Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).
Experience within addiction medicine, substance use treatment, behavioral health, or medication-assisted treatment programs.
Experience supporting multi-site healthcare operations.
Experience with regulatory readiness, accreditation, and quality improvement initiatives.
Scope & Impact
This role supports nursing operations across multiple locations and service lines, including outpatient medication-assisted treatment programs and residential treatment services. The organization continues to expand services in North Carolina, creating opportunities for leaders who enjoy building programs, supporting growth, and developing future nursing leaders.
This position is expected to provide leadership visibility across locations and occasionally travel between sites as needed.
Schedule & Flexibility
This is a full-time leadership position offering hybrid work flexibility. While most responsibilities are performed during standard business hours, nursing leadership may occasionally provide support during early morning operations, special projects, or critical organizational initiatives. Flexibility is offered to support work-life balance while ensuring operational excellence.
