ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF BUILDING AND PLANNING

The City of Woodstock is recruiting for a newly created Assistant Director of Building and Planning with the Building and Planning - Development Services Department.

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Assistant Director of Building & Planning assists the Director of Business & Planning with the ongoing operations of the Building & Planning Department. The Assistant Director is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to assigned staff and overseeing the department's development review activities, including zoning and subdivision administration. The work is performed under the supervision of the Building & Planning Director.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban or Regional Planning, Architecture, Geography, Public Administration or related field with a minimum of five years' experience in municipal planning; or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be accepted by the City.
  • Experience supervising and leading a team.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record for eligibility of City auto insurance coverage.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is desirable.

Salary & Benefits:

The anticipated annual salary range for this salaried/exempt position is $94,568 to $107,000 based on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
