Full Job Description
Work Shifts

9:00 A.M - 5:00 P.M; Rotating Weekends & Holidays. *[35 Hours per Week.]

Duties & Responsibilities
• Assists in the development of administrative procedures and programs of patient care.
• Assesses nursing services by making rounds, conducting chart review and evaluating patient care.
• Utilizes trauma registry data to develop and direct injury prevention education to the community recognizing population-specific needs
• Develops activities based on frequency and seriousness of events, substantial effect on society, proven efficacy and age appropriateness, adequate resources to implement the strategies and measures outcomes
• Formulates a plan to identify, select and engage professional staff, agencies and community to sponsor injury prevention programs; facilitate development of protocols and materials and orient and train individuals, groups and encourage coalition building
• Implements injury prevention programs and monitors their progress
• Evaluates each individual program to assure quality and effectiveness
• Remains knowledgeable on injury prevention legislative activities.
• Provides the Trauma Multidisciplinary Peer Review and Systems Committee with reports and program statuses during the monthly meetings
• Maintains relationships with local, state, regional, and national program leaders to promote individual programs effectively
• Represents the trauma center at local, state, regional, and national meetings
• Disseminates information about the trauma program and trauma systems through public awareness/educational programs, newsletters, websites and participates in local, regional, state and national trauma events consistent with the requirements of a Level I Trauma Center
• Plans, coordinates and instructs the Stop the Bleed courses on behalf of the Trauma Program in the hospital and community.
• Assist the TPM, TMD, trauma PI Coordinator and all trauma staff with IRB and Grant submission
• Assist the TPM and trawna PI Coordinator in the management of the trauma registry as related to research efforts
• Assist aH trawna staff including subspecialists in design of trauma related research to include abstract and manuscript development for submission and publication in peer-reviewed journals

Minimum Qualifications
1. Licensed and currently registered to practice as a professional nurse in New York State, plus (2) or (3), below.
2. Master's Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical Specialty or equivalent field and five years of satisfactory nursing experience, of which three years shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity; or a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and six years of satisfactory nursing experience, four years of which shall have been in a supervisory or teaching capacity.
3. A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience. However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
