JOB SUMMARY

To assist the Director, Operations Support in the efficient administration of the Material Requirements & Planning subgroups of MofW Material Management, by ensuring adequate but not excessive levels of material are available in Inventory to meet operational requirements

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for development and implementation of inventory replenishment and material forecasts operational needs. Manages the monitoring of transactional history and analysis for reorder generation recommendations as well as offline analytical data manipulation. Collaborates with using departments to refine projected forecast needs. Represents department on technical systems in support of the Material Management function.
• Acts as liaison, both independently and as support to the Director, Operations Support with internal customers and with MNR Management. This includes problem solving and troubleshooting as well as specifications, lead-times, and reorder points to ensure the proper availability of a multi-million-dollar inventory in support of the Operating Departments.
• Communicates, corresponds independently and with the Director, Operations Support involving external parties including but not limited to, various audit and oversight organizations in all matters relevant to Material Management Operations.
• Oversee Material Management Requirements & Planning subgroup's personnel matters, including overall staff performance, adherence to policies/procedures in Inventory replenishment, requisitioning, and other personnel actions involving hiring, training and employee development.
• Manages the timely and efficient reallocation of storeroom material for nonmoving inventory in accordance with Material Management requirements, procedures and internal controls.
• Prepares and monitors annual inventory dollar forecasts for the department providing quarterly analysis and end-of-year recap reporting to Finance Department.
• Oversee the management of the subgroup's Strategic Business Plan in collaboration with the Director.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)

Business, Finance, Economics or Engineering. Demonstrated, equivalent experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree, to include 4 additional years of related experience

Minimum 5 years

of progressively responsible experience in the area of engineering, construction material management, procurement or public administration related to perpetual inventory systems including high level management and/or supervisory positions

Minimum 3 years

of experience supervising a staff

  • Pursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the "Commission").
  • Final salary is determined experience, skillset, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
  • Employees driving company vehicles will be subject to License Monitoring and must complete defensive driver training once every three years for current MTA drivers; or within 180 days of hire or transfer for an employee entering an authorized driving position.
  • To be eligible for consideration for a new role, current MTA employees must complete at least one year of service in their current role prior to applying. Additionally, eligibility to interview is contingent upon maintaining a satisfactory record of job performance, attendance, and disciplinary conduct.
