Job Description:
Assists in the leadership, management, and strategic direction of the hospital's Biomedical Engineering
Department. This role is responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of medical
equipment and technology systems throughout the organization. This position will also collaborate with
clinical, operational, and executive leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, equipment reliability, staff
development, and continuous process improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or
equivalent from an accredited program is required.
• Minimum of eight years' relevant experience with maintenance and repair of high technology imaging
systems.
Factory training with major manufacturers of radiology and radiation therapy systems required.
• CRES and CBET certification required.
• Advanced networking configuration and troubleshooting skills and PACS/RIS knowledge required.
Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.) required.
Preferred Qualifications:
A working knowledge of hospital financial and budget systems.
• Knowledge of cost savings and revenue enhancement methodologies.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in clear concise manner.
• Computer skills to include knowledge of spreadsheets, databases and graphical presentations.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Must be familiar with all applicable codes and standards including (but not limited to) TJC, CMS,
NFPA,OHSA,SMDA,FDA.
