What You'll DoAs an Assistant Director, you will:
- Monitors and manages the facility's operations to ensure policy compliance, effective supervision of clients, delivery of quality services and the implementation facility schedules.
- Ensures quality and continuity of clinical services and curriculum within established parameters.
- Develops and executes departmental policies in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Assures compliance with applicable licensing and regulatory agencies.
- Updates and amends policy and procedures manual for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Supervises, assists with hiring, and evaluates staff performance, develops measurable objectives for necessary improvements and implements appropriate corrective action to staff adhering to human resources policies and utilizing Human Resources when necessary.
- Confers with local agencies such as social service, community relations, and criminal justice to interpret the institutional programmatic activities and objectives as well as developing cooperative working relationships.
- Assumes overall direction of the program including communication with internal management and external agencies in the absence of the Facility Director.
- Evaluates training needs of the facility for staff members and coordinates training activities and programs.
- Communicates regularly and thoroughly with appropriate supervisory staff member on matters such as operational, administrative, and personnel issues within the program/facility.
- Attend staff meetings and conferences.
- Supports the company's philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.
- Planning, organizing, directing and controlling the management and delivery of quality client services within a defined substance abuse treatment program.
- Reviews clinical treatment program services and results; ensures compliance with program and Foundation standards and objectives, applicable contracts, regulations and accreditation standards. Recommends program budgets, goals, and policies; and ensures effective implementation and administration of same.
- Interviews, hires, oversees the training and development of, schedules, assigns work to, evaluates the performance and competence of and, when necessary, disciplines and discharges subordinate staff in accordance with established personnel policies. Develops staff retention programs.
- Develops and recommends program goals and objectives and designs and implements appropriate plans to meet agreed-upon goals. Assists subordinate supervisors in developing and meeting goals and objectives for their areas of responsibility. Conducts regular meetings with program staff to communicate program goals, objectives, and short- and long-term plans, to provide advice and guidance in resolving complex case problems and to conduct staff in-service training.
- Maintains and fosters cooperative working relationships with a variety of referral resources and services, community organizations and criminal justice and social services agencies.
- Maintains and enhances knowledge and expertise through appropriate educational and organizational activities. Creates an annual personal development plan to increase management skills, abilities and competence. Serves on internal and external committees as assigned.

QualificationsRequired:- Bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in residential and non-residential facility of which three (3) years must be in a supervisory or managerial level or a Master's degree a behavioral or social science field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in residential and non-residential program of which one (1) year experience must be in a supervisory or managerial level.
Preferred:- Experience working with youth, young adults, families, or individuals in a behavioral health, education, human services, residential, or juvenile services setting
