Assistant Controller in
Charlotte, NCto support our growing central team.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and collections.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts regularly.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare budget forecasts and financial projections to support business planning and decision-making.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting software systems and process improvements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems; experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proven leadership abilities and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
