As our
Assistant Controller, you'll partner closely with the Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead month-end close activities, support audits, supervise accounting staff, and help drive continuous improvement across our Finance Department. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working alongside a collaborative leadership team.
What You'll Do- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses
- Support audits, budgeting, financial reporting, and cash management
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Serve as the Controller's operational backup when needed
We're Looking For Someone Who Has- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or government-funded accounting is a plus
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Work LocationThis is a fully onsite position in El Cajon, CA. Remote and hybrid work are not available.
