Scope of Position

Directs the financial accounting processes, analysis and research that is used to support the company’s financial statements. Directs the preparation of periodic corporate financial statements and management reports. Supervises general accounting the general accounting function.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervises the preparation of internal and external financial reports and ensures their accuracy
  • Evaluates the performance of personnel supervised. Responsible for hiring, firing and disciplinary action as required.
  • Ensures staff is adequately trained on financial accounting matters and financial accounting system processes.
  • Ensures the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
  • Supervises the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Maintains the accounting systems chart of accounts.
  • Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient and furnishes external reports as necessary.
  • Performs special projects as assigned by controller.

Education/Experience

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting. CPA certification required. Minimum of five years’ experience in financial management, preferably in the construction industry.

  • Excellent computer skills and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
