ASSISTANT CONTROLLERWHAT YOU'LL DO:This role is responsible for managing the company's general accounting and financial month-end close process, as well as various accounting projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manage core accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, payables, inventory, fixed assets, lease accounting, receivables, cash applications, and multiple system integrations.
- Oversee periodic balancing and closing processes, the distribution of financial, management reports, Year-end audit process.
- Ensure compliance, safeguard assets, and promote cost-effective and member-friendly practices.
- Prepare and issue monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and lead the preparation for the annual financial statement audit.
- Perform technical accounting research and prepare documentation on issues related to various accounting topics.
- Manage the Finance Department records to meet regulatory, tax and business requirements.
- Interpret, implement, and enforce company and finance related policies.
- Assist with the annual budget process, ongoing variance analysis, and ad hoc financial and management reporting.
- Partner with other departments resources to maintain, optimize and enhance accounting technology.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships, P-card system, and related expense reporting.
- Implement and administer internal controls, including identifying opportunities to streamline or enhance processes.
- Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.
- Implement and oversee continuous process improvements for the financial close process, ERP platform, and related business applications.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Provides direct supervision to the general accounting team.
- Responsible for developing people, improving processes, reducing costs, monitoring quality, delivering results against established objectives, and ensuring a high level of service to internal and external customers.
- Manages assigned employees by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, developing, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning monitoring, appraising and reviewing employee contributions; maintaining compensation, resolving problems and implementing change.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's Degree (BA) in business, accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent experience
- 6+ years' experience in accounting and accounting system technologies
- 3+ years' experience in supervisory or leadership role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Experience in public accounting preferred
- ERP or similar technology experience preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in travel, insurance or membership organization preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management
- Skilled in adjusting style and approach to suit situations that involve rapidly changing tasks, shifting priorities, simultaneous demands, or transitions into new assignments.
- Ability to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing, including effective use of listening skills.
- Able to make timely and sound decisions, understanding the impact and implications and providing feedback on outcomes.

SALARY:- Pay range: $105,876-$126,090

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- Hybrid work from home and office is required.
- The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
