Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:

In conjunction with Center Director, implement optimal patient flow by providing or assuring flow facilitation on a daily basis that helps meet productivity performance benchmarks, reduce patient wait times (60 minutes or less) and encourages a positive patient experience at PPCCC. Provides leadership to enhance effective and efficient operations to achieve health center goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Continuously monitor and prioritize patient wait time. Ongoing triage of Health Center patient and staff workflow by utilizing patient tracking and cycle time tools.
  • Monitor and minimize wait times. Constant communication with patients related to wait time. Offering options to patients and adjusting services as necessary to facilitate excellent patient experience.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust staff schedules and daily assignments to ensure efficient delivery of service and adequate break/lunch times. This includes the authority to make changes in staffing patterns and/or duties to assure optimum flow and patient satisfaction.
  • Promote continuous communication between front, back and licensed staff to create and maintain a teamwork approach.
  • Assure daily communication with Call Center to expand schedules when necessary for walk-in availability and other appointment changes needed.
  • Incorporates EHR into effective flow management
  • Ensure exam rooms and supply stations are consistently well stocked
  • Post and communicate daily assignments.
  • Participate and lead daily team brief and debrief sessions.
  • Support Center Director in training, monitoring, coaching and evaluating staff members. Assist the Center Director with assessment of staff training needs and evaluate staff performance. Ensures adequate staff is trained to provide flow facilitation.
  • Become primary staff resource in the absence of the Center Director.
  • Assume any front or back office duties as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety and emergency guidelines.
  • Assume responsibilities relating to revenue collection, cash handling, patient donations and end of day batch posting & reporting.
  • Implement policy decisions, convey information to all staff.
  • Be a resource and provide support to Health Center staff as necessary.
  • Communicate inventory needs to Center Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Center Director.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In collaboration with the Center Director provides feedback on non-licensed staff regarding competency and personnel issues. Provide direct supervision and assistance with scheduling, task delegation and coverage planning. Deliver hands-on coaching and on-the-job training to improve performance and offer constructive feedback, document employee progress toward performance goals. Handles direct supervision of ALL clinical staff in the absence of the Center Director.

  • 2-3 years' experience working in a Planned Parenthood health center or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of reproductive health care.
  • Skills necessary include: organization, computer skills, including Word and Excel, strong written and verbal communication skills, a sense of responsibility and high level of motivation.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stress.
  • Knowledge of community desired.
  • Ability to multi task, solve problems, function as a leader, work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Must have own reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Nextgen Practice Management Application is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills
  • Ability to research and gather information
  • Valid California Driver's license and appropriate insurance;
  • Must routinely and regularly observe Universal Precautions for blood-borne pathogens.
  • Other duties as requested


Planned Parenthood California Central Coast's (PPCCC's) compensation philosophy supports the organization's mission,vision, and values. Each position has a salary based on market value and the organization's pay levels. The starting salary for this position is $39.24/hour with an opportunity for an increase after six months of employment.As part of our commitment to pay equity, PPCCC does not negotiate salaries.

Pay Differential: $1.00/hour bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
