The Division of Quantitative Analysis of Markets and Organizations (QAMO) in the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah seeks candidates for a full-time, career- line faculty (lecturer) position in business economics. A successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in economics (or a related field) with evidence of teaching undergraduate- and/or graduate-level courses in business economics. Depending on experience, lecturers can hold the rank of instructor, assistant professor, associate professor or professor.
Lecturers are non-tenure track faculty whose primary responsibility is teaching classes and advising students. Beyond this primary responsibility, all faculty in the David Eccles School of Business should sustain long-term currency and relevancy in their field of teaching; this may appear as scholarly activities and professional engagement within the field. The QAMO Division currently teaches the business core to all David Eccles School of Business students, the electives and core courses for the QAMO undergraduate major, as well as courses in the Eccles Business School's MBA and PhD programs.
Applicants must have a record of successful teaching relevant to QAMO's needs. We are especially interested in applicants with a demonstrated commitment to student-centered learning. This is an in-person position based in Salt Lake City, Utah. A strong candidate must able to develop elective courses for the QAMO major, oversee teaching assistants, and coordinate activities with other instructors.
The David Eccles School of Business is a world-class business school with a rich history of excellence in education and research. The University of Utah has recently announced an intention to form a School of Economics, bringing together faculty from the QAMO Division in the David Eccles School of Business and the Economics Department in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The successful candidate will help shape a growing, newly integrated community of economists with opportunities to collaborate across business and social science perspectives and build innovative programsSalaries and teaching loads are competitive with top economics departments and business schools, and the fringe benefits are excellent.
The QAMO Division is committed to removing barriers for all individuals, including those traditionally encountered by individuals from underrepresented groups; strives to recruit faculty who will further enhance our breadth; and makes every attempt to support their academic, professional, and personal success while they are here.
Applications will be accepted until October 9, 2026 or until position is filled.
