Job Overview:
Leads the development and implementation of manual and automated production systems. Takes ownership of their area of responsibility by insuring volume and costs goals, high quality standards are met, while providing a safe working environment for all employees. Assists with implementation of new production technologies. Responsible for analyzing and strategic planning of technical and process developments.
Responsibilities:
- Defines budgets and scheduling; tracks budget achievement and costs
- Contributes to the development of implementation strategies
- Oversees the development and implementation of new production technologies and ensures continued process improvements
- Works closely with different departments on the development and implementation of production processes
- Manages projects as well as collaborates with project managers on optimization of plant utilization
- Ensures that the expected level of safety, quality, quantity, and deadlines of the production process are met
- Implements lean manufacturing concepts to achieve goals
- Considers and ensures compliance of product-specific and plant-specific environmental concerns and government regulations
- Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, directives, and work agreements
- Leads regularly scheduled team meetings
- Participates in regularly scheduled Assembly meetings
- Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifikationen Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage 2-3 Group leaders as direct reports 150 - 250 indirect reports;
- Leads team members in organizational culture, values and guidelines; defines performance goals, conducts performance evaluations; effectively communicates and engages team member to meet objectives; Responsible for team member development and qualification.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in planning, development, and implementation of production processes and technologies. Including experience in a leadership role; directing, training, mentoring, and developing team members in a fast paced environment.
- Able to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Internal candidates should have completed PV-44.

- Conveys budget distribution and cost saving processes to colleagues.
Knowledge and Skills
- Qualified candidate must have extensive knowledge in Assembly shop systems
- Must have excellent knowledge in LEAN manufacturing and how to apply it in a modern work environment
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in an intercultural, fast paced, changing, and growing environment

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC ("MBV") is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that produces Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC invested 500 million U.S. dollars in the construction of a new Sprinter production plant in addition to an expansion of the previous assembly operations. In September 2018, MBV officially opened its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade and is expected to create at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers
More than 130,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
