HVAC & Controls Area Service Sales Leader

Role Overview

As the HVAC & Controls Area Service Sales Leader, you will collaboratively lead service sales performance across a multi-market territory. You will mentor and lead strategy focused on securing new business, expanding existing accounts, and growing profitable service offerings across planned service agreements, controls, mechanical retrofits, O&M, and labor and materials. This is a hands-on role that combines strategy, coaching, customer engagement, and operational partnership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategically grow the HVAC and controls area service sales business.
  • Drive strategies for growth, profitability, and market penetration within the territory.
  • Mentor, and develope sales teams
  • Build and execute territory and account plans that expand existing relationships and win new business.
  • Grow secured service sales and improve margin performance across the area.
  • Promote service offerings including planned service agreements, controls, mechanical retrofits, O&M, and labor and materials.
  • Partner with operations and other internal teams to align resources, improve customer experience, and support delivery.
  • Develop long-term relationships with strategically important customers, owners, and decision makers.
  • Represent Johnson Controls as a visible, trusted presence in the market.
  • Monitor business performance, market opportunities, and team activity to support sustained growth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in HVAC field service or sales.
  • Several years of HVAC service sales, field service, or controls-related commercial building experience.
  • Experience leading, coaching, or developing sales professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC commercial equipment and building automation systems.
  • Proven ability to grow accounts, secure new business, and manage a multi-site or multi-state territory.
  • Experience working with planned service agreements, controls, mechanical retrofits, O&M, and labor and materials offerings.
  • Strong customer communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations and cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in owner direct or service sales leadership within a building technologies environment.
  • Background in HVAC commercial equipment, building automation systems, or controls service sales across a regional territory.
  • Experience building strategic business plans, territory plans, and market growth strategies.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $140,000 - $211,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
