Full Job Description
This role is responsible for overseeing the performance, reliability, and successful commissioning of Wabtec OHV drive systems across the assigned region. The position serves as the primary technical interface with customers and OEMs, providing troubleshooting, issue resolution, and operational support while ensuring timely communication of field findings and product performance insights to Wabtec engineering and manufacturing teams. In addition, the role supports product quality and continuous improvement initiatives through inspections and failure analysis of components at customer and distributor repair facilities. The position also provides oversight of regional service contract execution, ensuring service delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across Wabtec's installed OHV drive system fleet. Work Environment • Hybrid role with up to 80% domestic and international travel. • Must be able to work safely in active mining environments, including high-altitude sites (up to 18,000 ft / 5,500m), and meet all site-specific safety and fitness requirements. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the primary technical support resource for OHV Drive Systems, providing on-site and remote troubleshooting, commissioning support, and issue resolution. • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and customer requirements while maintaining required certifications and site access credentials. • Analyze equipment performance data, identify root causes, collaborate with engineering teams on corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement. • Partner with customers, OEMs, engineering, sales, and product teams to resolve technical issues and enhance customer experience. • Lead commissioning activities for new OHV Drive System installations, ensuring accurate documentation and asset management. • Support warranty investigations, failure analysis, and quality improvement initiatives through technical assessments and customer engagement. • Coordinate field reporting, RMA processes, and corrective action follow-up to improve product reliability and fleet performance. • Contribute to new product introduction (NPI) programs and support execution of aftermarket service contracts and customer support initiatives. • Monitor market, competitive, and industry developments and communicate relevant insights to internal stakeholders. • Promote an inclusive culture and embody the One Wabtec values through collaboration, accountability, and customer focus. Qualifications/Requirements • B.S in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation and Control Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in engineering, field service, or technical support role involving OHV mining vehicles; OR • Technical degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automation and Control disciplines, with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering, technical, or field service role involving OHV mining vehicles. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant experience may be considered. Skills Required • Experience with OHV Mining equipment design, testing, validation, and field support. • Experience working with geographically dispersed or multi-location teams engaged in engineering, product development, validation, or service activities. • Strong technical aptitude, including proficiency with relevant engineering tools, software applications, and diagnostic systems. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences. • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills. • Proficiency in English, including the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken formats. • Proficiency in standard computer hardware, software applications, and business systems. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders. The salary rate for this role is currently $68900-98200 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
