Architect- Fort Hood

Work Location: Fort Hood, TX

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen

Position Summary

The Architect will provide professional architectural oversight and support for federal construction and facility projects at Fort Hood, Texas. The selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing architectural designs, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and regulations, monitoring construction activities, and maintaining quality standards throughout project execution. The Architect will collaborate with government personnel, engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure architectural requirements are successfully integrated into project design and construction while meeting functional, aesthetic, and operational objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive oversight of the architectural aspects of the facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to approved design standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Regularly review and assess project progress against architectural milestones.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of architectural designs, ensuring they meet functional and aesthetic requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback on design elements, spatial planning, and overall aesthetics.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures for architectural components.
  • Collaborate with the project team, including engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings to address architectural issues and ensure seamless integration with other disciplines.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of design changes, approvals, and any deviations from the original plans.
  • Identify and address architectural challenges promptly, proposing viable solutions to ensure project continuity.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
  • Registered Architect (RA) license required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Architect.
  • US Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) or other federal project experience, preferred
  • Experience managing projects through planning, design, construction documentation, and construction phases preferred.
  • Experience reviewing construction submittals and responding to RFIs preferred.
  • Experience with RMS 3.0 and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Strong knowledge Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, quality control procedures, and architectural design standards.
