Applications EngineerJob Summary:The Applications Engineer serves as the technical liaison between Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customers. This role is responsible for developing customer-specific application solutions, developing sales order proposals, and ensuring a smooth transition from pre-sales activities to project execution. The Applications Engineer applies engineering knowledge to evaluate customer requirements, define system concepts, and provide customers with solutions.
Essential Functions:- Review customer inquiries and specifications to offer a proposal for a mutually agreed-upon solution
- Develop application concepts, system layouts, and recommended configurations.
- Serve as the technical point of contact during the pre-sales phase in support of Sales Engineers.
- Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions.
- Create budgets and write proposals to send out to customers.
- Prepare technical documentation supporting proposals and the scope of definition.
- Assist with cost estimating and participate in contract review meetings.
- Support Engineering and Project Management handoff and answer application-related questions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with reviewing Customer Purchase Orders (POs).
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of experience in applications, manufacturing, or sales engineering.
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with the manufacturing industry.
- Customer-facing technical experience.
- Familiarity with specification review and proposal development.
