Full Job Description
Implementation and support of biomedical device integration (BMDI) initiatives, including but not limited to anesthesia machines, vital sign machines, infusion pumps, RTLS, and communication of those systems with the EMR, end user devices and other systems. Analyzes, verifies, tracks and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devices to process data. Verifies design documents, executes testing for new functionality, and detects defect fixes. Modifies procedures to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyzes, verifies, tracks and identifies required inputs; prepares detailed program specifications.
  • Coordinates the system's installation with the user department, ensuring satisfactory results.
  • Oversees the implementation of required hardware and software components for approved applications.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with end-users to understand system requirements.
  • Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solution.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for workflow, operating procedures and system administration.
  • Participates in project meetings, and create/maintain detailed implementation plans.
  • Tracks the progress of tasks and issues and actively communicate status and resolution efforts with project stakeholders.
  • Works effectively in an environment notable for complex, sometimes contradictory information.
  • Builds partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals.
  • Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.

Job Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.


HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Primarily on-site presence with flexibility to travel between facilities as needed to support multi-site operations.
  • Strong knowledge of biomedical device hardware and the clinical workflows in which it is utilized across all service lines, enabling effective identification, integration, and interoperability of devices (BMDI).
  • Proven expertise guiding implementation planning, including assessment and coordination of network connectivity, power requirements, and device mounting/placement needs.
  • Hands-on experience with installation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, configuration, performance optimization, and testing of hardware, software, and networks used for biomedical device integration preferably with the Epic Electronic Medical Record.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to rapidly restore BMDI operations and reduce recurrence.
  • Effective project and incident management skills, including monitoring progress of assigned tasks and providing clear, daily status updates to stakeholders.
