The Application Systems Analyst III specializes in designing and maintaining solutions using Microsoft 365 platforms, including Power Apps and Power Automate, to support operational processes across the university. Serves as a departmental resource for platform capability and solution design and takes a lead role in projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Profile

Administers and manages non-enterprise applications, both cloud and on-premise, including technical testing, troubleshooting, analysis, installation, configuration and maintenance. Manages vendor relationships. Provides technical guidance pertaining to the capabilities, limitations and requirements of applications. Designs IT solutions using existing tools and technologies. Assesses compatibility and integration of products and services proposed as standards, in order to ensure integration across interdependent technologies.

Manages and resolves complex and ambiguous issues. Works on both strategic and operational challenges, addressing problems that require advanced knowledge and experience. Often takes on leadership roles in projects or initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience delivering results in a large or federated environment (higher ed, public sector).
• Demonstrated impact on satisfaction, reliability, adoption, or other metrics.
• Ability to work and collaborate effectively with partners, customers, and stakeholders with diverse perspectives and needs
• Strong skills in written and verbal communication, especially stakeholder communication and collaboration.
• Familiarity with IT risk, accessibility, and security practices.
• Comfort with IT methodologies and practices (agile, service management, etc.).
• Experience designing and implementing workflow automation using the Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Microsoft Power Automate.
• Experience developing or administering solutions built on Microsoft SharePoint.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and governance considerations.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable low-code automation solutions.
• Familiarity with governance practices for the Microsoft Power Platform, including environment and data policies.
• Ability to analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

This role is primarily desk-based with extensive use of desktop computers, phones, and other standard office equipment. Work is performed in an office or remote environment with regular interruptions and deadlines. Physical demands are typical of office work, including sitting for extended periods and repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse.

Work Schedule/Location:

Full-time, M-F with core hours 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. ET. Rotating on-call and off hours maintenance windows as scheduled (may include evenings and weekends). Periodic on-campus presence (quarterly/as needed) for planning or training. Flexible Schedule: Alternative or compressed schedules may be approved based on business need.
